Patch installation procedure

1. Start Installer

After downloading the patch executable from bitbox or from the download link provided you can start the patch installation by running the installer. 

1.1 Allow app to make changes to computer

If

1.2

Apply Patch

You arewill be asked if you want to apply the CGI-Studio patch. If

youSelect want[ Yes ] to proceedcontinue with the installationinstallation. youClick needthe [ No ] button to select "Yes".

You can cancel Applyingapplying the patchpatch. with
clicking

"No"-

button. You can restart anytime.

1.3 Extraction Process

A window opens,will showingopen with a progress bar for extracting the compressed data.  

1.3.1 Continue

You do not have to click, just wait.

After the extraction processprocess, the CGI patch installer will open.

To cancel the extraction process, press the [ X ] button (orange box below) or the [ Cancel ] button (red box below) in the upper right corner of the window.

Pressing any of the buttons will bring up a dialog to reconfirm work cancellation. To execute the work cancellation, press the [ Yes ] button. To cancel the work cancellation and continue the extraction process, press any button other than the [ Yes ] button.
After the extraction process, the CGI Studio Patch Installer dialog opens.

1.3.2

CancellingTo open the release notes (PDF) about the patch, click the [ Open Patch InstallationNotes ] button (orange box above).

1.4 CGI-Studio - Patch Installer is started

Afterof the extraction process the CGI Patch Installer opens.

The patch installer shows patch information such as

Version - CGI Studio version Customer - The customer that should receive a patch. Target OS - The target operating system the player can run on.  Target Platform - The target machine the player will run on.  Patch Number - Patch sequence number.patches. Patches must be applied in the correct order.sequence. Patch Files -Number How manyof files to which the patch will be patched.applied. Version Check Compatibility check of the patch.
To start the Version Check -and Patch compatibility check.

2. Get Information: Open Patch Release Notes

For Readingcontinue the Patchinstallation Releaseprocess, Notes (PDF) clickpress the "Open Patch Notes"- Button.

3. Install Patch

You need toand select the path towhere yourCGI currentStudio is currently installed.

You can also enter the path directly in the red box below.


As soon as [ CGI-Studio Installation toPath trigger] is selected, a Version Check will begin.

If all Patches with lower Patch Numbers are applied and target the versionsame Customer, Operating System, CGI Version (Note: Patch Number is different from CGI Version), and Target Platform, then the Patches are compatible. The patches are compatible if they target the same Customer, Operating System, CGI Version (Note: Patch Number is different from CGI Version), and Target Platform.

The results of the check are displayed in the [ Version Check ] part of the dialog.  

If this check fails (Mismatch), the installation will stop.
If Match is not displayed, try a different folder path. If the check results in confirmed compatibility (Match) or unknown compatibility (Unknown), installation is enabled and the [ Install ] button is activated.

If the [ Install ] button is enabled, press the [ Install ] button to continue the installationinstallation. process.

ClickThe "Select"-Install Button,window aopens typical open-path-dialog appears. You can also inputand the pathpatch directis intoapplied.


If the greenPatch markedinstallation Textis Box.successful, the message shown below will be displayed.

Press the [ Exit ] button to complete the Patch installation.

3.2 Compatibility Check

The version check starts as soon a CGI-Studio folder is selected. If compatibility check fails, installation will be prohibited. 

The patch is compatible if all the patches with lower patch number have been applied and is targeting the same customer, operating system(s), Target(s), CGI-version (note: patch number is separate from the CGI-version).

Possible Results are:

Unknown Match Mismatch

If the patch is compatible (Match) or the compatibility status is Unknown the installation will be allowed. "Install"- Button will be available.

If you did not receive a Match, please try a different folder.

3.2.1 What to do if problems cannot be solved

3.3 Start Installing Patch

After the version check is successful (Match) or Unknown please click "Install"-Button to continue the installation.

After selecting Install the installation window will be opened and the patch will be applied.

3.4 Finishing Installation

The patch installation is successful if you get the following message "Patching done":

Please click "Exit"- Button to finish the installation process.

3.5 Cancelling Installation

Button to be clicked Color Function "X" Pink Patch installation is cancelled, can be restarted anytime. "Cancel" Orange Patch installation is cancelled, can be restarted anytime.
