Patch installation procedure
1. Start Installer
After downloading the patch executable from bitbox or from the download link provided you can start the patch installation by running the installer.
1.1 Allow app to make changes to computer
If you allow app to make changes to computer, you are asked if you want to apply the patch. Otherwise this process is stopped. You can restart anytime.
1.2 Apply Patch
You are asked if you want to apply the CGI-Studio patch. If you want to proceed with the installation you need to select "Yes".
You can cancel Applying the patch with clicking "No"- button. You can restart anytime.
1.3 Extraction Process
A window opens, showing a progress bar for extracting the compressed data.
1.3.1 Continue
You do not have to click, just wait. After the extraction process the CGI Patch Installer opens.
1.3.2 Cancelling Patch Installation
You have two options to cancel Extraction:

A second window opens to ask for confirm:
You have four options:

| "X" | orange | Cancelling is cancelled = same as "No"-Button: Extraction Process continues |

1.4 CGI-Studio - Patch Installer is started
After the extraction process the CGI Patch Installer opens.
The patch installer shows patch information such as
- Version - CGI Studio version
- Customer - The customer that should receive a patch.
- Target OS - The target operating system the player can run on.
- Target Platform - The target machine the player will run on.
- Patch Number - Patch sequence number. Patches must be applied in correct order.
- Patch Files - How many files will be patched.
- Version Check - Patch compatibility check.
2. Get Information: Open Patch Release Notes
For Reading the Patch Release Notes (PDF) click the "Open Patch Notes"- Button.
3. Install Patch
3.1 Select CGI- Studio- Installation Path
You need to select the path to your current CGI-Studio Installation to trigger the version check and to continue the installation process. Click "Select"- Button, a typical open-path-dialog appears. You can also input the path direct into the green marked Text Box.
3.2 Compatibility Check
The version check starts as soon a CGI-Studio folder is selected. If compatibility check fails, installation will be prohibited.
The patch is compatible if all the patches with lower patch number have been applied and is targeting the same customer, operating system(s), Target(s), CGI-version (note: patch number is separate from the CGI-version).

If the patch is compatible or the compatibility status is unknown the installation will be allowed. "Install"- Button will be available.
If you did not receive a Match, please try a different folder.
3.2.1 What to do if problems cannot be solved
In case of any questions please contact our Support team on the CGI Studio Lighthouse.
3.3 Start Installing Patch
After the version check is successful (Match) or Unknown please click "Install"-Button to continue the installation.
After selecting Install the installation window will be opened and the patch will be applied.
3.4 Finishing Installation
The patch installation is successful if you get the following messages:
Please select exit to finish the installation process.
3.5 Cancelling Installation
