Multi-languages Settings

CGI Studio's multi-language support feature allows you to easily switch between languages. This section describes the operation of applying the multi-language support feature for the purpose of switching between English and Japanese units of measure (miles, kilometers).

Culture settings

To visualizedisplay text in multiple languages, a culture must first be created.

    Click [ Culture Solution Options... ] on the newlymenu createdbar clusterfrom in[ action,Language use]. CGI Player provided by CGI Studio. An asset file is the output of Scene Composer containing all the graphical resources of the scenes and can be loaded and rendered by Candera graphics engine. 
    Running the CGI player, three windows are displayed as seen below.

    Window 1 This is a command line interface which can be used to send commands to the CGI Panel. Window 2 This is the display which shows the simulation of the scenes according to configuration. Window 3 This is a graphical user interface with more features to configure the asset file via the CGI Panel. 


    Run CGI Player

    1. Click Play button found in the tool bar. 

      Make sure Generate and Play is selected. 

      2. Three windows appear as explained in the above-mentioned.

      1. Run CGI Player. 

        Please refer to Run CGI Playerclicking on howthe to[ launchCulture CGISolution Player.Options ] icon on the toolbar.

        MarkEnter "78.312 km" in the checkbox[ Text ] section of Scenes#Car_Clusterthe dialog.

        Click on the left[ sideAdd onCulture CGI Panel window. 
          Car_Cluster scene is shown in the Preview window. (Window 2 in the above-mentioned image)

          3. Click Scenes#Car_Cluster. 

            Scenes#Car_Cluster is highlighted red. 

            4. Click Controls on the right side on CGI Panel. (Red frame in the image above)

              A Controls list is displayed. 

              5. Click SpeedGauge. (Yellow frame in the image above).

                SpeedGauge properties will be displayed. 

                6. Mark the Simulation checkbox of Value property. (Orange frame in the image above) 

                  By default, this Value is recognized as an Int32 and a Wave (sine) simulation is applied to it. 

                  7. Repeat steps 5 to 6 above to Brake, Airbag, Engine and OpenDoors.

                    8. Click the Clapperboard] icon in the toolupper barleft corner of the dialog.

                      A new culture setting line will be added to startthe dialog.

                      Select "English[en]" from the simulationpull-down (orangemenu.

                        You can narrow down the list by typing "English" at the top of the pull-down menu.

                        Perform the step 3 through step 4 above for this time selecting "Japanese [ja]".
                          You can narrow down the list by typing "Japanese" at the top of the pull-down menu.

                          Press the [ OK ] button at the bottom of the dialog to close it.

                          You can set up multi-languages as required by following the above steps.

                          Language Table settings

                          After Culture settings are completed, a Language Table must be set up to configure text switching according to each language selection.

                            In the Solution Explorer, click [ Scenes>Car_Cluster ].
                              "Car_Cluster" appears in the imagescene below).tree.

                                ThisExpand will provide automatically generated values based on the settings"StatusBottom" in the Valuescene Generatortree tab.and click on "78.321 km" displayed.
                                  In the Properties panel, "78.321km (TextNode2D)" will appear.

                                  In the Properties panel, click the select item icon to the right of the Text section in the "2D Text Node" category.
                                    The [ Language Table Selection ] dialog box will appear.
                                    The[ Language Table ] dialog box can also be opened by selecting [ Language Tables... ] on the menu bar from [ Languages ].

                                    With the "Current Culture:" in the upper right corner of the dialog at "Master[00]", click the "Add" button.
                                      A new setting line will be added to the dialog.

                                      Enter "78.321 km" in the [ Text ] section of the newly added new setup line.
                                        The input value will be displayed if "Master" is selected as the language. If this is not entered, the text ID will be displayed.

                                        Switch the [ Current Culture ] in the upper right corner of the dialog to "English" and enter "78.321miles" in the [ Text ] section of the settings line.

                                        Similarly, switch [ Current Culture ] to "Japanese" and enter "78.321 km" in the [ Text ] section of the setting line.

                                        Press the [ OK ] button at the bottom of the dialog to close it.


                                        This completes the configuration of text to be displayed in response to language switching.
